At the junction of four highways, Walsenburg has become a hub for the south central region. Founded by Spanish farmers, the town was renamed for one of the town's first merchants, Fred Walsen. Nearby are two lakes, Martin and Horseshoe, and Lathrop State Park. Best Western Walsenburg Colorado.
