Limon, Colorado began as a work camp site in 1888 when the Chicago and Rock Island Railroad was building its line from Kansas through to Colorado Springs. It was named after a construction foreman, John Limon, and was called "Limon's Camp." As more roads were built, Limon was referred to as the "Hub City" of Eastern Colorado. Highways I-70, 24, 40, 71 and 287 all cross each other here. Best Western Limon Colorado.
