Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
No other canyon in North America combines the narrow opening, sheer walls, and startling depths offered by the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. There are multiple overlooks for sightseeing and a road to the bottom of the canyon. City of Murals
Delta now has 20 buildings and sites on the local, state and national historic register. On several buildings you can view murals depicting local scenes by local artists. Pick up the tour guides at the Delta Visitor Center. Call 970-874-8616 for more information.

Delta County Historical Museum
Located in an old firehouse, the Delta County Museum features the cultural heritage and natural history of the Western Slope; the butterfly exhibit includes some of the only-known specimens from now extinct species. Limited hours of operation. Call 970-874-8721 for more information.

Dry Mesa Quarry
Located on the Uncompahgre National Forest, Dry Mesa Dinosaur Quarry is one of the most famous dinosaur localities in the world. Seventeen different genera of dinosaurs have been discovered at this site since 1971, as well as a number of other fossils, including pterosaurs, birds, crocodiles, fishes and mammals. Fort Uncompahgre Living History Museum
Fort Uncompahgre is a living recreation of Antoine Roubidoux's 1830's fur trapping and trading post. An authentic experience that takes you back to the sights, sounds and smells of the real thing. Call 970-874-8349 for more information.

Grand Mesa National Forest
The world's largest flat-top mountain transcends a mile above the surrounding Colorado and Gunnison Rivers. The mesa was formed as lava seeped upward through fissures in the earth 10 million years ago. Visitors of the Park can enjoy excellent hiking and horseback riding on over twenty marked trails. Pioneer Town
