Creede Undeground Mining Museum

Jack Dempsey Museum - Manassa
Manassa is the birthplace of Jack Dempsey, 1919 Heavyweight Boxing Champion. The museum is located in the house where Jack was raised, and is full of memorabilia and information including boxing gloves from the New York fight, photographs, and newspaper articles. Natural Arch

Old Spanish Trail
This trail expands 1,200 miles from Santa Fe, NM, to Los Angeles, CA. Just west of Alamosa Colo, the trail can be caught crossing over the Rio Grande between Del Norte and Monte Vista. Alamosa County Museum displays items from Native Americans, such as pottery and other artifacts, as well as displays remnants from an old time school house and general store. Suguache Museum
A virtual warehouse of the things people used and cherished in the 18th and early 19th century in Colorado. On display in the 125 year old building with its adjoining jail, are also a large mineral collection, and a Spanish-Indian room. Outside are wagons, implements, and a blacksmith shop. Transportation of the West Museum and History Center - Monte Vista

Wagon Tracks
Known to have been the wagon tracks from Colorado workers in the 1800's hauling logs to make railroad ties. Take U.S. 285 north and then go west on County Road G. Follow the left fork, make a right at the sign pointing to the tracks and follow it to the dead end. Follow the trail on foot for about 200 yards and you will see the tracks in the limestone. Wheeler Geographic Area
